This course is suitable for experienced CARE users and for engineers who wish to incorporate nameplate specifications, date ranges, user defined functions and complex event criteria into their CARE algorithms. You will need a working knowledge of substation, transmission and distribution operations and the maintenance requirements for those operational centres.
CA-05 CARE advanced training
This is a comprehensive course for CARE users responsible for the configuration of PI to Cascade data mapping and functionality.
The following topics are covered:
- Incorporating nameplate specifications into algorithms
- Including variable date ranges in RPacks
- Building independent functions
- Include complex event criteria, using multi-point events
- Exploring quality tags to include/exclude events
You will be given the opportunity to apply your new knowledge of CARE software through hands-on examples and case studies.
CARE is an interface between Cascade utility asset management software and SCADA data collected by PI Historian. Mapping functions between PI tags and Cascade equipment initiates the application of reliability packs to bring critical online data into Cascade for use in triggers and trending.
The course is aimed at CARE administrators and engineers who will be responsible for designing the system to match current needs on an operational basis as well as IT professionals who may be part of the Cascade/CARE administration team. It may include subject matter experts (SMEs) for detailed knowledge on specific equipment management, such as transformers, circuit breakers, etc.
