Electricity supply introduction course
This two-day introductory course explains the basics of electricity supply. The layout and operation of the power grid as well as the power markets are addressed in more detail. Terminology, grid structures and grid components, market players and the coordination of supply and demand will be discussed.

Course planning
In the context of your work, have you ever asked yourself the following questions?
- What, exactly, is the difference between current, voltage, power and energy?
- How does the power system work?
- How does protection by grounding and overcurrent limitation work?
- What does balance responsibility party stand for?
- How is supply and demand matching done in the power market?
- How is power quality of the network influenced?
- What effects do distributed renewable energy resources have on the grid and the market?
- What is meant by frequency control, power flow, coincidence, etc.?
- What is reactive power and why is it important?
- What are ancillary services, unit commitment and economic dispatch?
